Synopsis
A silent night in the Yagi household. All of the MibuRoushigumi members gathered in a room, looking down and serious. Meanwhile, in another room, the Yagi family gathered, surrounding a lying body...it is Hisa, Gennojou Yagi's mother...

"Oretachi no sei kana...(is it our fault?)" Isami mumbles to himself. Hijikata who sit beside him said, "It is just her time...". Later, Hide comes, and tell them that Hisa calls Harada Sanosuke.
Harada comes to the room and sit besides Hisa...suddenly Hisa hold Harada's hand and smiling, "Mantaro-san...". Mrs. Yagi explained that it is her late husband's name. Then, Harada pretend to be Mantaro^^ But just a while...later, Hisa open her eyes wide and doesnt look happy, "Sanosuke...".
Hisa tell Mrs. Yagi to bring a broom into the room....Mrs.Yagi put it upside down. Then, with arm gesture, Hisa tell her to turn it around....meaning she has accept MibuRoushigumi in her house. Harada is smiling widely and looks grateful to her. Just after that....Hisa close her eyes....exhale her last breath..... Harada's tear flows down.....

~April 8th, 1863~
Isami and Hijikata insist to Gennojou Yagi, that since the members of Mibu Roushigumi are staying with the Yagi family, they will be the ones to manage Hisa's funeral service. Gennojou refuse at first, coz he and his wife do not trust them to be able to do the service well....but since they insist, Gennojou eventually agree. They held a meeting soon, Hijikata and Yamanami promptly make various arrangements for the funeral.
Isami ask Hijikata what is his task. "Nothing, you just stay here in Yagi house.", "What? No way...I have to do something,", "You're a kyokuchou...just relax,". Isami keep insisting Hijikata to give him a task...but Hijikata is not changing his mind.
"Anoo...Harada-san also have no task...what should he do?" Okita ask Hijikata for Harada. "You just stay besides granny," Hijikata said to Harada.

Since both Isami and Harada have nothing to do, they go to Masa's foodshop. Isami is asking Harada where he's from, and does he still has a family, "Me? No...my parents died. Unlike you, who have a home....and will have your parents to welcome you home...I have no one left........" Harada keeps going and going telling his sad story. While, at one point, Isami's eyes spot a beautiful figure passing by the foodshop from the window...and totally not listening to Harada anymore. When Harada realized he's not listening, Harada snapped, "Oy! Are you listening?!". "Hai?!" Isami turns to Harada again.
Masa: (smiling) Kondou-sensei....someone likes to meet you....
(Miyuki enter the food shop and smiling to Isami)

Miyuki: I want to thank you for the other day....ever since then, I keep thinking about it.....
Isami: Ah....actually, me too....kinda worried....
Miyuki: I was just arrived from Osaka that day, so I was really scared...I really dont know what to do...thank goodness you're there....
Isami: Osaka? You're from Osaka? Then, what is your purpose coming to Kyoto?
Miyuki: ......... (looking down and not answering)
Isami: (feels uneasy, then he drinks his tea)
Miyuki: (looks up again).....everyone is so strong, na? I was really surprised!!
Isami: Oh, actually we learn kenjutsu back in Edo....ah, I'm sorry....I'm Isami Kondou from Shieikan in Edo...*bow*....
Miyuki: I'm Oyuki....*bow*....
Isami: Oyuki-san........(gazing at her)
Miyuki: And now...you join Mibu Roushigumi?
Isami: Yes!
Miyuki: (smiling) I saw you the other day, when you crash those boards....
Isami: Sou, sou....I saw you, too....I'm glad and happy to see you, that day....
Miyuki: Actually, I come here today, while just wondering whether you are here too, or not....whether I can meet you here or not.....
Isami: Sou deshita ka.....then, I'm very glad I decided to come here today....

Both Harada and Masa, the waitress, are watching them from another table. Isami and Miyuki are chatting happily and all smiley. Harada mumbles, "Didnt he come here to cheer me up?". ^_^
 

All MibuRoushigumi members are working hard...getting ready for the funeral. Okita is mopping the floor. For some reason, Gennojou Yagi is looking at him......

Meanwhile, Serizawa do not take any role at all on the funeral, he just lying all day in his room, with his head on Oume's lap. Oume is asking isnt he going to take part at all in the funeral...then Serizawa give her 3 ryo, "Here....my contribution for the funeral...give it to them,". Then, Oume give the money to Isami.

Hide is crying. When Okita see this, he tell her not to cry....men should not cry unless their parents who passed away. Hide almost bursting out, "But, I am....I am a....!". She stop, and did not continue....

While Roushigumi is preparing for the ceremony, Nagakura brings Shimada Kai who wants to join Roushigumi. He is such a big and tall man, that when he walks into the room, his head knocked the wall above the door.
He introduce himself, Hijikata ask him, "So, Shimada-san, what are you doing now?". But he do not answer, and seems like not listening. "Oi, he asked you!" Nagakura said. "Ahh! Ah...so sorry, I just changed my name...still not used to be called with the name," Shimada said. "So you changed your name?? What was your previous name?" Isami ask. "Ahh...its Tanbaya...then, someone also named Tanbaya work together with me, so I just changed to Shimada,".
Isami: Hee...before that?
Shimada: Its Kawashima!
Hijikata: Before that?
Shimada: .....unn....Naganaba....
Isami: Before?
Shimada: Kondou...ahah...same as yours!
Isami: .....birth name?
Shimada: ....Minou Ogari!

Its the funeral night, the Aizu domain people are coming. Saitou notice his old friend comes.
Tomijiro Hirosawa(a high ranking official from Aizu Domain) talks to Isami and Hijikata about news he heard on Serizawa Kamo. He heard he has done bad things and misuse the roushigumi's name to do bad purpose, like borrowing money. Isami said, that maybe it is only a rumour. "Whatever it is, the news has spread...and it will drag Aizu domain too!" Hirosawa look unhappy. "Then, we'll try to investigate the truth.." Isami said.

Saitou's friend tell him to go together with him, finishing a business. Saitou firmly tells him, that he cannot go...and he has nothing to do with him anymore...but his friend keep insisting....

As Shimada's first task, Isami asks him to bring a Buddhist priest to conduct the ceremony. Suddenly, Okita in a hurry enter the room and tell them that Genzui Kusaka of Choshuu is coming. Everyone is on-guard immediately when they heard this, so Nagakura tell Shimada to do his first task alone, coz he feels he needs to stay at the house.

Isami-tachi try to welcome Genzui in a nice manner, as to not create any kind of dispute. When Genzui and his men are about to leave, Isami thank him for coming.
Genzui: Kondou-san....deshita ne?
Isami: Hai...
Genzui: Why are you always getting in our way?! Are you really serious in trusting the future of our country to bakufu?!?
Isami and Genzui are having a debate on their principals...and their political views' difference. The situation starts to heat up, that makes Okita about to take off his sword, seeing Okita...Genzui's men also about to take off their swords....then, Okita is held back by Hijikata.
Then, Serizawa comes outside, cools off the situation. And Genzui Kusaka finally leave.

Later, Hijikata-tachi waits for Shimada Kai who bring the Buddhist priest, outside. Nagakura just remembered that Shimada just came to Kyoto, so he doesnt know Kyoto streets very well, and that he must be at a loss now.

Meanwhile, Saitou finally join his friend to fight bunch of roushi, without a sword. He fight them with his bare hands, and steal the enemy's sword once in a while.....he managed to defeat all of them......

Finally, Shimada Kai arrive with the Buddhist priest. So the ceremony goes on successfully.
Gennojou Yagi thank Isami, Hijikata and Okita, since the funeral is well conducted by the Roushigumi members and apologize for their misunderstanding. Gennojou tell them he has something to confess. Seeing Okita is so sleepy, Hijikata ask permission for him to Gennojou, to let him go to his room first. But Gennojou refuse, coz among all of them, he wants Okita to hear this confession the most. Gennojou confess that Hide who has been disguising as a man is actually a woman. Then, Hide comes outside in a female kimono dress and female hairstyle, "Yagi Gennojou's daughter......Hide de gozaimasu,"
Isami, Hijikata and Okita are in awe..................

Hijikata was so upset that he never realize Hide is a woman, he always thought he has a good sense about woman. Isami just chuckled. Suddenly, a voice is heard from inside....it is Serizawa.
Isami: Serizawa-san? You're still up?
Serizawa: What's a matter?
Isami: Its about Hidejiro....turns out...
Serizawa: She's a girl, desho?
Isami: hee...you know about it??
Serizawa: I know just by a glance..."

Isami: Tonight...arigatou...
Serizawa: What are you saying? I didnt do anything...
Isami: I understand your feelings very much and realized to ask you join the MibuRoushigumi is not a mistake...you actually care about the country!
Serizawa: ....yamete kure....(stop..)....
Hijikata: So have you return the 100 ryo you borrowed?
Serizawa: 100 ryo? what's that? I dont remember I ever borrowed....
Hijikata: You better not getting Aizu-han in trouble...

Serizawa: Kondou-kun...warui kedo...I'm not a person who thinks alot like you. I only think about the country this much*gestures little amount with his hand*. I dont care that much...to me, the most important is I have sake to drink...
Isami: But, tonight....
Serizawa: I hate men with no manner, that's all! So pls....Kondou-san....omou youni yatteru ne...ore wa ato kara tsuite.....(do the thinking...I'll catch on later...)
[Isami is stunned]
Hijikata: (mumbles) ...dattara omou youni yarasete morau jannai ka yo...... (then you might as well, just give up your position, will ya...)
